UN Women is dedicated to gender equality and the empowerment of women. A global champion for women and girls, its objective is to accelerate progress on meeting their needs worldwide.
To create an enabling environment for the realization of gender equality and women’s empowerment, UN Women Lebanon advocates and supports social mobilization for legislative reform, works with the partners and the Government of Lebanon to build gender responsive institutions, and delivers essential services to women and girls in need – Lebanese and refugees. UN Women’s work in Lebanon is largely undertaken through the following focus areas:
