Description |
US-based NGO established in 1945 working around the world to end poverty, injustice and human suffering. It started work in Lebanon in 2017.
It focuses its work on emergency relief and sustainable agricultural development assistance to lay a foundation for food security, resilience, climate adaptation, and strengthening value chains. It is presently focusing its resources and efforts on responding to the needs of refugees and internally displaced people (IDPs) fleeing the ongoing conflicts in Syria and Iraq as well as the needs of the host communities receiving them.
In Lebanon it is addressing diminishing economic opportunities and improve social cohesion between Lebanese locals and Syrian and Iraqi refugees. It helped thousands affected by the Port Explosion in 2020 to recover stronger.
