| Description |
The LLWR is a non-profit, democratic, secular organization which was established in 1947. It is a founding member of the Lebanese Council to Resist Violence Against Women (LECORVAW) and the National Assembly for the Elimination of All Forms of Discrimination against Women. It aims to achieve the following objectives:
• Empower women in the political arena
• Enhance the role of women in the manufacturing sector
• Achieve equality between men and women
• Assist the Lebanese government in implementing the Convention on the Elimination of All Forms of Discrimination against Women (CEDAW)
• Create a unified and active women’s movement
